Big news yesterday, Disney announced a hiring freeze and budget cuts in response to low summer attendance. All departments have been asked to cut labor hours and make other cuts as necessary. Disney had over hired in anticipation of large crowds for Star Wars Land and since the crowds didn’t come, they unblocked Cast Member admissions and launched the Bring a Friend promotion. Disney feels it isn’t enough so a hiring freeze is now in effect.
